The mountain-brush fire within the municipality of Vélez de Benaudalla on the 29th was declared out by Infoca that same evening.

The fire broke out at around 15.45h on the 29th with the first fire-fighting units arriving at the scene within minutes. Infoca, who deployed a helicopter, two fire trucks and 21 personnel, declared the fire ‘stabilized’ at 17.55h and ‘controlled’ by 19.20h.

The area affected was calculated at 1.5 hectares of mountain brush – no dwelling were affected.
