The Mancomunidad has announced that the roadworks along Avenida Juan Carlos I in Almuñécar has finally concluded.

Drivers recent had been confronted by the Mariana Pineda street closed to traffic, which went down like a lead ballon to most.

The main thing is that the old sewage pipes have been replaced with ones that are three times wider and, more importantly, rain water run off no longer goes into the sewer system, but along separate pipes

The next road to be dug up will be along the sea front, out towards the water park (Paseo de Reina Sofía). This won’t begin until after Semana Santa and will entail laying a separate rain-drainage system.
