Porn in the Classroom

SPN School PornSometimes, fact is stranger than fiction, and the fact is that a teacher at a religious school unwittingly exhibited porn on the classroom projector… for 50 minutes.

The class had an exam and the teacher, bored, decided to view hotline chats and explicit images on the classroom computer whilst his tender students – between 13 and 14 years old, were busy concentrating on their exams.

So there he sat, snug in his classroom at a school run by a religious order; El Colegio Sagrado Corazón in Don Benito, Extremadura, talking dirty on a sex chat site and viewing for 50 solid minutes before realizing that the computer was connected up with a projection screen. Oops!

Yes, the 28 kids were exceptionally quiet and well behaved during the exam because they were engrossed in their teacher’s conversations and the explicit images plainly visible on the screen.

When the penny did drop, he quickly erased his browsing history and shot around to the principal’s office to say that something “horrible” had happened. And something horrible did happen; he was eventually fired.

This all happened on the 28th of February 2014. The school Head held a meeting with members of the parents’ association which led to the teacher being informed on the 16th of April that his contract had been terminated.

Now, instead of thinking to himself “fair cop, Guv” he decided to fight the decision and took the school to court. However the court decided the dismissal to be correct and fair.

In the meantime parents had sued him for corruption of minors, but the judge considered that as he didn’t realise that the images were visible to the students, it was just a case of “negligence.”

Amazingly, no satisfied with having been let off the hook over the corruption of minors, he decided to appeal before the regional high court over his dismissal. His lawyer said his conduct was the result of a “unconscious defense mechanism,” fruit of the anguish caused by a childhood trauma.

The appeals judge had a good laugh and threw the appeal out. Basically, he had no business connecting to sex chats online during class – evidently a task not required or remunerated within his teaching duties at the said school.

Whilst the possibility of being hired for another teaching post might appear remote, a future in the porn industry as a prized… might be on the offing.
