A 51-year-old man was arrested for allegedly installing cameras and microphones in his lover’s house in order to see if she had somebody else. He had a wife… but that’s different.

He confessed to doing it, by the way, so you would think that “allegedly” is not necessary, but a suspect can always retract a confession, so “allegedly” stays.

It was the Guardia Civil in Maracena that was in charge of the investigation.

The victim of the spying found such devices on four different occasions, hidden under, within, or behind, her furniture, but had no idea who could be putting them there.

It was on the 7th of November when she came across the most recent spying device and handed it over to the police, who identified it as a sophisticated listening device with its own SIM card, so that it could be activated by a muted phone call.

Logically, it wasn’t hard for the police to trace where the incoming calls were coming from…
