Three individuals, aged between 19 and 40, were arrested, following a burglary carried out in the early hours of the 17th at a local primary school.
The thieves, once inside the school grounds, forced the padlock on the main entrance and gained entry to the building.
Once inside they allegedly stole eight school computers – one from each classroom, they also entered the teachers’ staff room, where they ‘acquired’ a stereo music system.
Later that same day several classes were cancelled, both because of the missing materials and the commotion, caused by the discovery of the burglary.
The Guardia Civil were informed as soon as the burglary had been discovered and officers were sent to make an inspection of the crime scene whilst a patrol car made the rounds to gather information by interviewing anybody who might have heard or seen something.
Meanwhile, back at the school, the police had found in the immediate surrounding area four abandoned computers, either on purpose or because they simply had not had time to carry them all off.
During the course of the day the police located the three suspects and recovered the missing computers and the music system.
One of the suspects – the eldest – is a known delinquent who was enjoying parole – the other two have no criminal record.
