The strong westerly winds on the 15th have caused havoc on the Salobreña seafront, precisely where the repair work is going on.
The waves uncovered large boulders that had been buried during the repair work on the eastern end of the seafront promenade; i.e., in front of Salomar 2000 and the river mouth.
According to Manuel Guirado, who is the Councillor for Beaches at the Town Hall, the gales did not wash away the sand, at least not the original sand. It’s a gradual process, he explained, whereby each gale will spread the new sand around until the whole beach, right the way along, will have the same texture.
Sounds fine on paper, of course.
