The Fire Chief of the Ronda Fire Station in the province of Málaga has been sacked because he used a fire truck to fill his swimming pool.
This decision was taken by the Provincial Consortium of Firemen for Málaga.
Apparently, Fire Chief, Juan Pimentel felt it was a good wheeze to use one of his fire bowsers to pop up to his chalet to fill the pool, bless him.
It wasn’t his bowser, it wasn’t his water and it wasn’t his lucky day as he was bubbled by an anonymous tip-off.
When he found out that his ‘operation’ had been discovered he explain that the bowser had a crack in it and needed emptying – his pool just happened to be handy, perhaps?
Trouble is, it wasn’t the first time that he had allegedly used the Fire Service vehicles to fill his pool.
In the meantime, they are fishing around for a new Fire Chief at the Ronda Fire Station – preferably one that doesn’t have a pool, we imagine.
Chief Pimental sticks to his version of events, explaining, “The firemen told me that the bowser had a leak. The mechanic said that it needed emptying before he could fix it, so, rather than wasting it, I thought that it was a good idea to empty it into my pool – I did it in good faith!”
