New 4-Star for Almuñécar

ALM New 4star Hotel OnLThe Almuñécar Town Council has given the go-ahead for a 4-star hotel near the Tesorillo Beach in Taramay with 70 rooms.

The category is 4-star ‘superior,’ which will mean a higher standard of services than a normal four star, as it is targeting mid-to-high acquisition-level guests from Northern Europe and… above all, during the mid and low seasons.

The project has a budget of 4m euros and should provide between 55 and 60 jobs

Urban Dream will build the hotel and Explotaciones Hoteleras Nazaríes will be running it.

The project speaks of a “difficult, inclined, building plot,”of some 2,500 sq/m, which will mean that it will be a stepped design with just about every room having sea views, explained the Councillor for Urban Development.

The land category will have to be changed from ‘Residential’ to “Hotel,” which shouldn’t be a problem – hotels get special treatment when it comes to building permission.
