The May Cross competition in La Herradura was won by the Cruz de la Asociación de Vecinos Barrio Alto. The said neighbourhood association won the 400-euro first prize and a diploma.

The judging panel of the Certamen de Cruces de Mayo was manned by members from each of the competing cross entrants, by the way.

Second prize, worth 300 euros and a diploma, when to the Cruz de Mayores Virgen del Carmen, which was situated in the village pensioners’ club.

The Third Prize, worth 200 euros and a diploma went to the Cruz Amigos de La Herradura, on Calle Príncipe.

A special mention worth 100 euros was awarded to the Cruz de la Asociación de Vecinos Las Maravillas, which was mounted in the barrio of that name.

Altogether there were seven Cruces de Mayo competing, located on streets, in squares and even business premises.
