Almuñécar now has a dog area or ‘dog park’ where mutts can chill out, sniff butts and other unsavoury canine pastimes.

The Environmental Department of the Town Hall has chosen the Parque El Pozuelo in Taramay, which admittedly is a 3-day camel trek for Cotobro residents but a small sacrifice for devoted dog owners.

Councillor Luis Aragón explained that the dog park is almost 100 square metres in area but added that they had the intention of designating similar areas in other parts of the municipality in the near future, depending on how this one goes.

“This is a bit of an experiment,” he confided.

The Pozuelo dog park will have special doggy accessories, such as brushes, poop scoops and bags.

So there you go; just the place to have your Chihuahua eaten by a Rottweiler!
