The Almuñécar Casa de la Cultura is the venue of one of the most important European exhibitions of African traditional art, until the 6th of May.
The exhibition is actually in two different places, although the main viewing area will be in the exhibition hall in the Casa de la Cultura, there will be exhibits in the Claves de Almuñécar Museum, which is inside the same building.
The museum area, dealing with Arte real, will run the two months, dealing with: royal masks, statues, warrior masks, royal furniture, jewels, etc.
The exhibition hall underneath will run for one month and cover Arte Vita: fertility and motherhood, and everyday utensils.
Referring to objects related to the spiritual word, the exhibition organiser explains, “It is the world of forefathers, relics, oracles, divinities and fetishes, altars, sacred masks, magic and soothsaying.”

From now until the 5th of May
Arte Real/Museo Claves de Almuñécar
10.00h to 13.00h, Mondays to Saturdays
From now until the 4th of April
Arte Vital/Exhibition Hall
16.00h to 18.00h, Mondays to Saturdays.
