Rosario de la Aurora a-la-Herradureña

LHR Rosario Aurora OnLOne of the main features in a La-Herradura-style Christmas is the Rosario de la Aura, which lasts from the 21st to the 24th.

During four successive early morning sessions, this centenary event consists of plenty of religion mixed in with music.

The procession sets out from the village church at six in the morning (you’ve got to be keen for this one!) and for the next hour it makes it way through the village. Every now and then it stops at prearranged points and a song is knocked out.

The stopping points are the Calle Canalejas/Príncipe crossroad and then further along the same street at the Calle España crossroads. Then its down to the Acera del Pilar and then back to the church for Christmas carols and Mass.
