The Almuñécar Town Hall now has a new Oficina de Atención al Ciudadano (OAC) in operation.
The Mayor, Trinidad Herrera, Trinidad Herrera, flanked by the Councillor for Administrative Organization, Antonio Laborda, says that this office is another link in the push to making administration more “agile and practical.”
The Town Hall building has been turned inside out with open-plan office space replacing the corridors and doors to each individual office, and the addition of this one-stop administrative office is the icing on the cake.
The OAC is accessible via the side door on the hill leading up to the church (Cuesta de la Iglesia) and is open from 09.00h to 14.00h, Monday to Friday.
The main door, accessed from the square itself, is open from 08.00h to 21.00h Mondays to Fridays and from 09.00h to 13.00h on Saturdays. This entrance desk is for a wider range of institutional and tourist information.
Five employees and a coordinator, (see photo) will staff the department.
Councillor Laborda announced that the second phase, due to begin in January, will see the launching of the electronic or digital service which will have a section for tradesman’s bills so that any bill for over 5,000 euros can be traced; i.e., to find out what stage of payment it has reached.
