Car Corpse Kerfuffle

Some cars just don’t have enough room in the boot (trunk). Let’s face it, when you’ve got a trolley load of shopping, a gasoline container, some tools, an old blanket and a dead body in there, there’s no room left for that crate of beer you were going to pick up on the way home from the shops.

Of course, we’re joking… but a woman in Los Angeles did return to her vehicle in a Walmart car park, only to find the corpse of her neighbour in the boot!

Local news source KCAL reported that the body was found in a gold Lexus GS300 (mental note: Lexus have good vehicle storage space). The woman claims she didn’t know the body was there until she opened the boot to stow her shopping. The Riverside County Sheriff’s Office figured that the dead man was probably killed elsewhere, and most likely in the town of Pomona, where they both hail from (pretty obvious, as it’s the driver’s neighbour, one would think.)

Apparently, even in LA it’s not a common occurrence to find a corpse in your vehicle boot and Sgt. Dave Amador told news channels that the circumstances were unique to his experience. Especially as the corpse had been decomposing in the boot for some time. Which of course begs the question, why didn’t the driver notice?

Well, she said that did notice a bit of a smell in the vehicle, but never really thought much about it or felt the need to check it out.

That lady must have spent one hell of a lot of money on those dangling air fresheners. As for the decomposing man in the boot? Investigations continue.
