The Mayor of Motril and a suitable gaggle of councillors went down to Playa Cable, which is the town’s first beach for dogs. A couple of bylaws needed modifying to permit this.

The Town Hall, who have christened it the Playacan, say that this beach area represents merely a lineal 250 metres of beach from the 11,000 metres that Motril enjoys.

Readers are reminded that just because the said beach has ‘gone to the dogs,’ the owners still have to comply with normal municipal regulations concerning dog droppings and the use of leads.
