The 21-year-old man who fell ten metres whilst free climbing the cliffs above Playa Rijana has died.

The incident, which occurred on Saturday the 14th within the municipality of Castell de Ferro, required the presence of the Motril Fire Service, the Guardia Civil and a helicopter to fly the injured man directly to the Virgen de las Nieves (Trauma) in Granada.

The man, who had suffered severe head injuries, passed away in the Intensive Care Unit on Monday and was buried the next day.
