Almuñécar Facade Competition

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAAlmuñécar has held its first Municipal Facade Embellishment Competition, which also covers patios and ‘corners.’

The first prize went to a house on Calle San Miguel (Nº4), with a cash endowment of 1,200 euros and a wall plaque. The house in question is up in the old town, belonging to Antoni Santiago Cortés.

The jury, which was presided over by Councillor María del Mar Medina, awarded the Second Prize, worth 600 euros, to a house in Plaza Eras del Castillo, (Nº42) belonging to Jesús Moreno Puyol.

The Third Prize went to a house in the Town Hall Square (Pl. Constitución) bringing with it a cash payment of 200 euros. The house belongs to José Manuel López Romero.

A total of 15 houses took part and all three prize winners also obtained a wall plaque to mark the occasion.

Finally, a special mention was made concerning the facade of Rest. Los Geraneos in the Plaza de la Rosa – well deserved, nobody can fail to be impressed by the homeliness of its facade.
