Two policemen in Motril prevented a man from hanging himself from a tree in a little frequented area of the town.

The incident occurred on Monday 5th of May at three in the morning.

A Policia Nacional patrol found the man hanging from his neck but still alive and quickly cut him down.

However, as soon as he was on the ground and recovering, he attempted to run off, shouting at the policemen to leave him alone because he wanted to hang himself.

They managed to calm him down and persuade him to desist in his efforts until an ambulance came to take him to the hospital.
