Lots of sporting activities in store for Almuñécar during the month of February (despite the weather!).

Fuente Piedra beach will be the location of red-hot, Valentine’s, Grand-mixed, triple-bowls competition oh la la!

We’ve already mentioned about the 15th and 16th Crawler RC competition on Playa Tesorillo (radio controlled cars), which anticipates about 50 participants from all over the world.

Moving swiftly along, the second, Andalusian-league championships are scheduled to take place on 22nd of February from 9am-2pm in the municipal sports pavilion.

Back to the beach, but this time in Velilla on 23rd of February for the grand, fishing competition using the surf-casting technique and organised by the Costa Tropical Fishing Club.

Coinciding with the same weekend of 22nd and 23rd, the Costa Tropical Tennis Club will be organising the second heats of the Provincial Tennis circuit of Granada. This will take place at the Rio Verde municipal sports complex.

Based in the same location, watch out for the second annual Día de Andalucía Football Tournament on 28th February, which takes place throughout this significant day.

Finally, if hiking is your thing (and naturally, weather dependent), 23rd of February will see us trekking off surprisingly early on a Sunday morning with all the other fitness enthusiast ‘nutters’ (just kidding!) to take in the breathtaking scenery near Padul, along the route of Mamut-Durcal.
