Remember – On 8th November the branch is holding its annual Poppy Ball at the Nerja Caves restaurant. This event has taken place every year for many years and raises money for the legion in order that it can do the very important work it carries out supporting our ex-servicemen and women who protected our freedoms and peace, not just during the two world wars, but also in much more recent conflicts such as the Falklands, Iraq and now Afghanistan.
It is always a great evening and a chance to meet old friends. Anyone who would like tickets (and there are a few left) should contact Nick Ball on 952 522 630
We have the opportunity to show our gratitude and respect to all our Armed Forces, both past and present on the 10th November at the lower salon of the Caves restaurant in Nerja when we hold our first Remembrance Day event. This is a non-denominational act of simple remembrance and is open to anyone who wishes to join us.
It was decided to organise this service in answer to the many members who had indicated that there was a need for it. We hope that anyone who would like to join us will come along and take part. There is no charge for attending but a contribution can be made at the end and will go towards the Poppy Appeal 2013.
Our service personnel do not call themselves heroes, but we can acknowledge and show our gratitude to them and their families for their sacrifice and commitment.
If you would like to share our act of remembrance, please feel free to come along. Anybody who would like more information can contact Dave Graves on 654 085 811 or email. dgdeepblue@gmail.com. You will be most welcome.
Just remember…
Dorothy Graves,
PR Nerja Branch.
