How Ridiculous?

A group of schoolkids had made small, wooden nesting boxes for wild birds and wanted to place them in the trees of a park in Zubia – it was not to be. The police came along and told them that they needed a licence to do it.

One of the school children’s projects in their natural science class was to build these bird boxes; the type that considerate house owners put up for nesting wild birds. The school teacher informed the Town Hall and off they all set to place them into the trees, but then along came the Local Police who bravely sunk the kids’ day out.

The policemen informed the teacher and schoolchildren from the Centro Cultural Miguel Hernández in Zubia that a special licence was necessary, which had to be requested several weeks beforehand.

Understanding neighbours, however, saved the day, allowing the kids to erect their wooden nests, made from recycled material, in their gardens next to the park.
