About a kilometre of El Camino de Los Mateos has received a pretty convincing bed of tarmac, as well as having its edges either side cleared and concrete drainage channels added, thanks to funds received from the Department of Agriculture at the Junta de Andalucia.
The Councillor for Public Works & Rural Environment, José Manuel Medina, went up to see how the work had gone and was pretty chuffed, bless him. He was accompanied by the Coordinator for Rural Environment, Francisco Alba, who pointed out they had received numerous requests from locals that use the lane, for it to be improved, as this is the steepest part of the entire stretch.
The Councillor went on to add that they are already looking into other country lanes needing improvements that can be included in the 2012 budget.
