PSOE Flag Moan

The PSOE Town Hall spokesperson has called for the current administration to concentrate more on the job of governing and less on flags.

Francisco Prados says that with more than 3,000 families in crisis due to unemployment in Almuñecar and La Herradura, the mayor, Trinidad Herrera, should “focus on important issues and stop worrying about which flags fly where.”

Sr. Prados says it is time to make decisions that help create jobs and announced that the PSOE will be in the forefront of the creation of a new ‘municipal employment exchange.’

“I do not believe that Almunequeros and Herradurenos are concerned how big or what kind of flag is flying at the entrance to their towns. That type of thing is only for the municipal government of the PP and PA to grab photo opportunities for the media. What local people want is the opportunity to work, and that requires calling on local businesses, organising workshops and training courses and facilitating access to local businesses for municipal contracts,” explained Sr. Prados.

He continued, “unemployment has risen by 10.8% in Almunecar and La Herradura and in September there were a total of 297 more unemployed, which is the worst figure in 15 years. So when the citizens see that the planters are being painted; when they were only done recently and money is being spent just to put a national flag on a fountain, they will know it is the municipal government doing this.”

According to figures obtained by Sr. Prados, more than 3,000 families are in crisis due to unemployment in Almunecar and La Herradura. “This cannot continue, the Town Hall must take steps to alleviate the problem and we call on the PP and the PA to work in earnest to help those who are suffering due to unemployment,” he concluded.
