(Fuengirola) The Policia Nacional have arrested a woman in Fuengirola for allegedly swindling 380, gigolo hopefuls.

Apparently, the lady in question was operating far and wide, over the whole of Spain, which probably explains such a large number of men who thought that they could make a living from being a stud for rich widows.

According to the Ministry of the Interior (the police come under that ministry) the accused placed adverts in national dailies, in which she offered work ‘for gentlemen willing to maintain relationships with well-off ladies in exchange for money.’

To be accepted for this choice employment, those interested had to make a deposit in bank accounts in third-party names. It is believed that the woman managed to accrue 124,000 euros by this means.

The accused had already been arrested for similar offences. On this occasion, she was reported by several victims from Barcelona, Madrid, Santander and Orense. After her arrest, her home was searched where several documents related to her operation were found.

Meanwhile, another women in Arroya de la Miel (Malaga) was arrested accused as the alleged administrator of the companies used to commit this case of fraud.
