Get-Away Car Found

Robbers attempted to raid a games hall on Calle Alboran, Salobrena at the beginning of the week. The robbery was frustrated, thanks to a routine, Local-Police patrol around 15.00h on Monday the 9th.

The get-away driver, upon seeing the police patrol, panicked a fled the wrong way down a one-way street. The police saw that the rapidly disappearing driver was wearing his hood up and sunglasses.

In the meantime, the three other members of the gang came running out of the games hall only to discover that there was no sign of the get-away car, so they ran off in the direction of Fabrica Nueva, jettisoning the bag of money along the way – it was picked up by a passer-by and handed in to the Guardia Civil.

The driver must have known the layout of the town pretty well because he was able to throw off the police vehicle in pursuit, as well as have time to pick up the other three robbers in another part of the town.

Since then the car has been found, parked on Calle Muñoz Seca and forensic police have since been examining it thoroughly for clues as to the identity of the thieves.
