Local businesses had been pressing the Policía Local and the Guardia Civil to do something about the amount of pirated goods (forgeries) at the Friday market. Accordingly, both police bodies carried out a combined sweep, resulting in around 1,079 forged items being confiscated.

The majority of these pirated goods were sports wear: T-shirts, trainers and shorts – most of them in the Spanish Football Team colours, Real Madrid and Barça.

Furthermore, there were four arrests, all of whom were Moroccans, between the ages of 35 and 44.
