Recession? What recession? Say what you will, our Spanish neighbours do love a Parade! Still more, they simply cannot resist una fiesta!. And so it was on the first Sunday in October – la fiesta de la Virgen de los Rosarios – the celebration of the feast of “The Virgin of the Rosary”.
And to hell with any thoughts of economic downturns! And may the Devil take the hindmost (by whom, of course, I mean Gordon Brown).
If you weren’t able to be there, you missed a chance to see a special, authentically Spanish, celebration. Decorated Floats, Andalusian horses all dressed up, beautiful costumes for every young lady over (or under) the age of five, free food and drink all over town. Oh what a Parade! And what a good time was had by all! It was a wonderful celebration of life in Spain, and a reinforcement of the reasons why we all have chosen to live here.
