Cerro Gordo Road Problems

The access road between the N-340, Cerro Gordo entrance and Peña Parda is causing unrest again, primarily over safety problems. Consequently and naturally, La Asociación de Vecinos Las Palomas-Cerro Gordo is not happy.

The said association is demanding that the Town Hall acts on the numerous complaints received over an extended period. Not only, claims the association, has nothing been done, but the Town Hall hasn’t even deigned to respond to any of their written requests.

Not a sausage… Bugger all! As always, sepulchral silence reigns in the petition-response department. Let’s face it; if the town-hall clerks were paid on the basis of their written response to citizen complaints, they would die of hunger.
The association’s demands were verbally expressed before the Councillor for Citizen Participation, Eva Gaitán at the Town Hall, as well as in a dossier, containing photographs and comments, warning that if heed was not taken, it could result in ‘accidents.’

Their demands are that the roadsides should be cleared of weeds and vegetation in general, which are blocking visibility to drivers, as well as forcing pedestrians to walk out around them. They also demand that the dips in the surface be effectively filled in – these were caused by recent work on the drains. They want lighting – there is none, and a path for pedestrians.

Eva, get in touch with us and tell us what the gen is and we will publish it here, OK?
