Even more exciting news (it’s a sloooow news month!). Your Local Police Department has now moved to new, larger premises. Oh, yes! In a much-heralded event, the Mayor himself – accompanied by several Councillors, the local Commander of La Guardia Civil, and spokespersons from every available political party, not to mention our local Chief of Police, Sub-Inspector Alberto Sanchez – inaugurated the new premises in a magnificent sideshow for the local press.

Not a single voice of dissent from any direction. Oh, no, not when there’s a major photo opportunity!

The new HQ (if you’re interested) will be adjacent to El Parque de la Fuente. So, a much better location for our long-suffering Locales, then. Nice, green places to go and eat their lunch, for example. Plus, we are assured that the increased space will allow ‘privacy’ for the lodging of complaints. Golly, gosh, label me excited. The punch line is that all this ‘improvement’ – which involves not one more officer on the streets – has come at the cost of only €72,000.
