How could we not mention Sr. Luis Rubiales, ex socialist mayor of Motril and now… ex-socialist! The PSOE expelled him from the party and before you could say ‘Bob’s your uncle,’ he had teamed up with Juan Carlos Benavides in the Convergencia Andaluza.

As Sr. Rubiales took a bucket load of socialists from the PSOE with him to join his new party, the socialists in Motril are very seriously wounded, as if things were not bad enough for the PSOE, thanks to the attrition caused by the economic crisis – any party in power during such a time is guaranteed to go under, come the elections.
