Lanjarón Town Hall invites you to take a break to let your imagination go back to the times when Spain was the home of three cultures: Muslim, Jewish and Christian. Here, in Lanjarón, that is what we have attempted to recreate with the Barrio del Azocaque (Arab Marketplace).
On the 14th, 15th and 16th of August you will have a chance to visit and enjoy the Barrio del Azocaque, which has been organised by the Town Hall and the Council for Tourism.
You will find court jesters, blind beggars, travelling musicians and comedians, dancers, snake charmers and craftsmen’s workshop, including potteries, bakers, and goldsmiths, stalls where you can buy typical sweetmeats belong to these three cultures, Arab teashops… you will be transported back to another age.
