Burning Bus Scare

There was a bit of a scare on a municipal bus in Granada after it caught fire enroute for the Barrio de El Fargue.

GRA Bus FireThe emergency number 112 was bombarded with calls from people; both drivers and pedestrians, who had witnessed the Number-Eight bus start to burn.

Two fire engines were needed to put the flames out, but not before the vehicle had been consumed by the fire.

All ten of the passengers onboard at the time escaped injury thanks to their rapidly abandoning the bus once it had quickly pulled up to a halt.

So far, it is not clear whether there had been a short circuit or the engine had overheated.

Paul: it wouldn’t have anything to do with that pine forest they cleared and are still burning off the branches and cleared undergrowth. I can see it everyday from where I am staying right up above Otivar? I can see usually four columns of smoking rising from there.

what about the odd very large rectangular mountain fire that lit up the night sky high above La Herradura on Friday night/saturday morning about 2:00 am. It seemed very odd. Many blue flashing lights racing along country roads. Fire trucks still dousing the embers the following morning. Anyone have an update?
