The external auditing of the Almuñécar Aquarium has come up with cases of faulty construction. In the opinion of the Mayor, Trinidad Herrera, this was because the work was carried out hastily to have it ready for the 2007 municipal elections.

A 74-year-old woman has sued the Junta de Andalucia for 48,000 euros in compensation after she tripped over a protruding bolt-head on a temporary pedestrian path through the metro roadworks in Granada in 2010.
