If you are registered with the Servicio Andaluz de Salud (SAS) and have your card, from the end of this month you won't need to carry it. Read on.
The reason is because SAS is about to launch the digital, mobile version; a virtual health card. This will soon be available in the Carpeta Ciudadana app, which already includes other digital documents such as the Carnet Joven and the Tarjeta 65.

If you don’t have that app, you probably have the Salud Andalucía app, on which you make your appoints with the doctor.
This new function gives you access to doctor appointments, viewing your medical records, and picking up prescriptions at the pharmacy in a faster, more accessible way.
To identify yourself at your health centre, you simply need to show the QR code that stores all your data. But there is nothing to stop you continuing to use your SAS card or Salud app.
