Chopped Ham Alert

The Junta de Andalucía's health authorities have sent out an alert concerning the presence of Listeria Monocytogenes in canned, chopped ham.

The alert had been handed down by the Spanish Agency for Food Safety & Nutrition (AESAN) who issued a statement this Friday informing consumers about the affected product.

The product in question is “Canned Sliced Chopped Ham; Nuestra Alacena (DIA) 150g; Batch number: 252771; Expiration date: November 18, 2025; Unit weight: 150g; refrigerated.

Initial distribution was in Andalusia, although redistribution to other autonomous communities cannot be ruled out.

This information has been shared with the relevant authorities in the autonomous communities through the Sistema Coordinado de Intercambio Rápido de Información. The aim is to remove the product from supermarkets.

Furthermore, people who have products affected by this alert at home are advised not to consume them. If you have consumed any of the products from the affected batches and are experiencing symptoms consistent with listeriosis (vomiting, diarrhoea, or fever) it is recommended that you see a doctor.
