This time a hiker suffered a fall in the mountains above Trevélez in the Alpujarra, yesterday.

The Emergency Coordination Centre, 112 receive a call around 12.40h on Sunday from a relative of a man who had fallen down a 15 metre steep slope after losing his footing. Unfortunately, as he came to rest he struck his head.
A Guardia Civil, mountain-rescue team, GREIM (Grupo de Rescate e Intervención en Montaña) was despatched using their rescue helicopter.
They soon located the 65-year-old victim, landed and picked him up, applying First Aid before flying him directly to a helipad used by 112 in Granada.
From there, he was taken by amublance to the Hospital de Neurotraumatología (Virgen de Las Nieves) in the centre of the city to be treated for a traumatic brain injury (TBI).
