A 39-year-old woman was arrested by the Policía Local in Fuengirola for allegedly throwing alcohol over her 44-year-old girlfriend and setting light to her.

The victim was rushed to the Hospital Regional Universitario de Málaga because of her burn injuries.

This incident took place on Calle Colón a little before the emergency coordination centre received a call from a resident on the said street saying that they could here screaming coming from a flat.

The centre sent the Policía Local and an ambulance to the address given. When they arrived, they were approached by a woman in a nervous state saying that her partner had suffered burns. When they spoke to the victim, she declared that her partner had doused her with alcohol and set fire to her.

The ambulance dealt with the victim whilst the officers arrested the victim’s partner and handed her over to the Policía Nacional, who will handle the investigation. Municipal police don’t deal with criminal matters; only the Guardia Civil and Policía Nacional do.
