A dolphin was found dead this morning on El Pozuelo Beach in Albuñol, where a local phone alerted the 112 emergency services around 09.30h about his discover.

Specialists from the Aula del Mar have identified the animal as a specimen of Delphinus delphis, known as the common dolphin.

According to preliminary examinations, the dolphin did not show any obvious signs of injuries from impact.

We reported at the end of last year on a similar discovery; it was on the 28th of December that a dolphin appeared on Playa Granada in Motril.

The Aula del Mar will now be on a special lookout after the two cases of dolphins being washed up in less than a fortnight on the Costa Tropical.
