Car Accident on Metro Tracks

A collision between two cars in Maracena on Monday morning, 1st January, resulted in no injuries.

GRA CM Car Hit by MetroThe incident would not have been of major importance if one of the vehicles had not been left in the middle of the metro tracks, which forced the metro to stop and affected vehicle traffic too.

Around nine o’clock Tuesday morning, the Granada metro warned that “due to an obstruction on the track, we are obliged to provide a partial service between Armilla and Maracena.” 

Thanks to the prompt action taken by the Maracena Local Police to clear the drivers involved in the accident and remove their vehicles it allowed the metro connections to return to normal.

At around eleven o’clock in the morning, full services were restored on the metro line between Armilla and Maracena. The Maracena Department of Safety, Traffic, Mobility and Internal Affairs reported that the accident did not cause any injuries, only material damage to the vehicles involved and the resulting transportation problems.
