Following arson attacks in Almuñécar on parked cars, yesterday morning the residents of the Town Hall Square were awakened by a deliberate fire in an automatic, snack dispenser.
The municipal fire service was called in to put the fire out, deploying a large fire engine, three personnel, backed by the Policía Local.
Social media reflected a growing anger in Almuñécar, both at the culprits, whoever they are, as well as at the insufficient policing, owing to personnel shortages and the ongoing dispute between the Town Hall and the Policía Local over unpaid overtime, etc.
These acts of vandalism have all the appearance of being the work of bored youths rather than a single pyromaniac. Hopefully, however, the culprit(s) will be caught.
