A 22-year-old man was arrested in the early hours of Saturday, accused of committing an act of sexual agression against a woman of his same age in Carchuna.

The alleged attack took place of Playa Carchuna, according to the Policía Nacional, who had been alerted via the 112 emergency number.

Both the alleged aggressor and victim are Spanish and belong to the same group of friends. Since his arrest, he is being kept in police holding cells in Motril.

According to 112, they received a call at 04.30h Saturday morning and both the Policía Nacional and an ambulance were despatched to the scene of the incident.

This incident conicides with the publication of a report by the Department of Equality belonging to the Junta de Andalucía that reflects that during the first six months of 2021, 52 small boys & girls and adolescents were victims of sexual violence within the Province of Granada.
