The owners of a mango plantation woke up to find that somebody had cut down 200 trees at their base on their farm between Benamargosa and Cútar.
The owners, sisters Paqui and Silvia Moya, explained that they managed to salvage most of the crop because the mangoes were ripe but that is the last crop they will ever harvest in a long time. The trees were 15 years old; i.e. at their most productive stage of their lives.
They are waiting for an insurance expert to value the damage, which in economic terms is tremendous. For this reason the sisters are asking for collaboration from neighbours or anybody else who can shed some light on this criminal act. “We want justice,” said Paqui Moya
