Good news for gun-licence holders because like just about every other administrative deadline, renewing your licence is not necessary; it’s automatically extended.

It doesn’t matter if your ITV has run out or your ID card needs renewing, they are all automatically extended whilst the Lock Down is in force.

Obligatory, 6-monthly, shooting practice for security guards have been suspended, together for the ones required for bodyguards.

But it’s not only fire arms but also fireworks that have been affected; all licences for storing and selling fireworks have been extended until the end of the year..

Back to firearm licences, over 100,000 of them have automatically been extended.

For this reason the Ministry of the Interior issued the following measures in the Orden INT/316/2020:

1: Gun licences type B, D. E and F have been extended for a period of six months for all those that expire during the Estado de Alarma and up to two months after it concludes.

2) Suspension of obligatory shooting practice during the first six months of 2020.

3) The extension of adaption period for the installations of workshops, storerooms and establishments for the sale of pyrotechnic material (fireworks) and ammunition (cartridges). This extension expires on the 31st of December, 2020.
