La Najarra Work Concluding

ALM Palacete de La Najarra Tourist Information OfficeThe building work being carried out on Almuñécar’s main Tourist Information Office (La Najarra) will be concluded by the end of this month.

Well, that’s what the the Councillor for Tourism, Daniel Barbero, announced but adding that they will still have to move the furniture etc back in and any finishing touches, we’re probably looking at October.

Work began back in June and work has progressed according to schedule, the councillor says.

Starting work on a tourist office at the doors of summer, however, could be quite questionable – Santa wouldn’t put his sleigh in for an upholstery overhaul on the 24th, would he?

Anyway, the Town Hall managed to scrounge a grant from the Junta de Andalucía to help tourism-centred towns.

The first stage was a complete restoration inside, respecting the original materials, with work moving on to the exterior; i.e., painting the facade.

One of the main problems dealt with was the drainage on the patios near the main entrance, which was causing problems inside the main door.
