There is a warning circulating via several whatsapp groups concerning a supposed kidnapping attempt of a child in Almuñécar.
The message (we have a copy of it) is from a female kinder-garden teacher saying that a mother had approached her and told her how she had been walking along Calle Guadix on Wednesday pushing her baby girl in a baby buggy when a man came up to her.
He asked her how old the child was and then whilst overtaking the mother as they walked he supposedly tried to snatch the child. The mother saw what was happening and escaped with the child in the buggy.
She noticed (according to the whatsapp message) that there was a car parked just a little further on and that the driver appeared to be involved with the child-snatching attempt.
The message ends with the teacher telling everybody to be very careful.
However, according to the FFCCSE neither the Policía Local nor the Guardia Civil in Almuñécar have received any reports on this; nobody has come in or phoned to report an attempted kidnapping. Yet, having spoken with the person that forwarded the message to our whatsapp group, she said that it came from a work companion whose child is at that kinder garden and that it certainly was reported to the police.
