Almuñécar has switched over to summer hours as far as visits to monuments, parks, museums and tourist offices go.
For instance, the main Tourist Information Office (Palacete de La Najarra) on Calle Bikini is closed for renovation work, so the other two smaller ones will take up the slack. You can find one at the Aquarium and the other on the Paseo del Altillo. The said offices are open from 10.00h to 13.30h and 18.30h to 21.00h, every day.
The T.I.O in La Herradura, which is in the Centro Cívico on Avenida Prieto Moreno, is only open in the mornings; i.e., from 09.30h to 14.00h.
The tourist train, Trópico Express, also known as ‘that bloody nuisance,’ leaves from in front of Edificio Chinasol at the end of Playa San Crístobal, on the hour, every hour, staring at 19.00h and with the last run at 23.00h. More info: 619 551 803.
