The Almuñécar Municipal Walkers Club started its 2018 programme yesterday with a coastal walk between Valle Niza and El Palo, along the Costa del Sol.
From now until the end of June there will be walks every other Sunday, taking in some of the most picturesque and interesting corners of the province and beyond.
Each excursion costs twelve euros to participate, which includes transport and guides. There is also a season ticket covering ten, walking excursions that costs 100 euros.
Yesterday’s walk covered 19 kilometres along the same route as the Desbandá (1937 refugee column fleeing Franco’s advancing forces). There were no gradients to speak of and the walk took the participants through the old coastal-railway tunnels.
