Dangerous Nests Removed

ALM Santa Cruz Pines OnLThe Santa Cruz junior school in Almuñécar requested the Town Hall to do something about the poisonous-caterpillar nests in its pine trees.

Accordingly, the Municipal Environmental Department acted and removed the danger from the infected pines within the school grounds.

The poisonous-caterpillar season is upon us, once again, and readers are reminded that if they come across a procession of these creatures, nose to tail, then the best way to remove them is using a hosepipe; don’t use a yard broom.

It is also very important that you don’t let your dog near them as if they try to eat one, they will lose their tongues, if not their lives.
