The Motril Town Hall is giving the Parque de las Américas a bit of a facelift, more specifically, the stage area, its surroundings and access.

The Councillor for Maintenance, Parks & Gardens, Gloria Chica, explained that they had received a grant of 80,000 euros from the IFS (funding arrangement set up by the Provincial Council) in June, 60,000 euros of which have gone on the park.

The work on the stage has entailed enlarging it to double its original size (from 50 to 100 sq/m). There is also going to be an access ramp built as well as an extra set of steps at the back of the stage, or band stand, if you prefer.

Finally, the nearby garden area will be turn into a lawn.
