An earth tremor shook the inhabitants of Padul and those of the surrounding area, as a parting gift from a bone-dry September.

At exactly 10.22h on the 30th of September, seismographic departments across the land registered a 3.3 reading on the Richter Scale, originating at a depth of ten kilometres.

The epicentre was originally reported as under Cozvíjar but it was later given as under Padul.

Surrounding areas affected were: the Valle de Lecrín towns, Villamena, Churriana, Alhendín, Las Gabias, Lecrín, Albuñuelas and the city of Granada.
